Legitimate Online Writing Jobs

If you are a small businessperson, you’ve probably learned that you need to treat your employees right. When you hear about Blogmutt, you may think that we do not do that.

It’s an understandable concern. But rest assured, one of the Blogmutt founders (Scott) is a writer, and he wouldn’t do anything to make writers miserable. (He knows full well they do that to themselves.) (Kidding!) (Kind of.)

What Blogmutt does is provide a new place where writers can get paid. For writers, in general, that’s a plus.

Now, it’s true that some of what gets written will be thrown out and never used. This is similar to the way that the designers on 99designs make logos that will never be seen outside the realm of that site, and the way that T-shirt designers on Threadless sometimes create designs that will never be printed.

The question isn’t about what happens to all those words that don’t get used. The question to ask is this: “What did we learn?” Every time a small business person or a marketing manager who is a customer of Blogmutt picks an article, we at Blogmutt and all the writers who wrote prospective articles learn more about what you like. That informs all of us, and the next week you can bet that you’ll be getting articles that are even more closely aligned with what you want.

So, it’s true that some writing won’t get used, but there’s no better way for a writer to learn. In the tough economy for writers, we think there is great value in that.

And, if a writer really thinks that a piece of writing is good and the Blogmutt customer is wrong to reject it, the writer is always able to take that writing back and find another Blogmutt customer to use it for. Or the writer can use it for some other purpose entirely.

We know we aren’t for every writer out there, but there are plenty of writers who would love a chance to get paid a little something, and get the personal development and professional growth that comes with working as a paid writer. If you think you are one of those writers, contact us at Blogmutt and we’ll send you an online writers’ application.
